And it was UNITED indeed as 4 of the biggest KPOP fan clubs united in one special event prepared by MCA Music and Astroplus! I, myself was pretty excited because I remember having talked to Ekah, Meg and Meg (BBPH and BEASTPH) about coming up with a JOINT gathering a year before and TA-DA! Guess it came into a complete reality. KPOP UNITED was truly an event for those who loves the Wonder Girls, Big Bang, Beast and 4Minute.

Awesome performances from the 4 FCs as well, this one’s Wonder Yeoja performing a WG medley for the audience. Oh yeah, Wonderful Philippines’ very own dance group. Haha! I think the girls did a good job given the short notice. Loves to my ladies! And of course, crowd’s favorite BEAST tribute group, BEST was there to perform as well!

There’s BEST, looking very powerful and yeahp, all them screaming girls in the background. I think it was kind of cute that some of the Korean girls at the event thought that they were some Korean idol group. Other groups such as HotMinute, Nine Flames and Cloud Nine performed at the event as well but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to watch these performances properly or take photos because yeahp, as you’ve heard my bag was stolen. My camera and phone is safe though. Nothing big to worry about, important part there is everyone’s safe and nothing major caused a riot.

Though…I have to say, this is my favorite performance during the whole event!

Salamat idol! XD Isa ka nang ganap na artista talaga. CARNINS pa rin ako! XD Ahehehehe!

I also well, took part in the event by hosting the Wonder Girls segment of the program. It was quite fun and my first take on hosting on such a big event.

Yes, I know I have been gaining weight from sitting down the whole day!

In the end, despite the unfortunate part where my bag gets stolen (phone and dslr safe!), KPOP United was such an awesome event and I’m looking forward to work with everyone again soon! There will be more coming from these fanclubs and more to look forward especially this December *HINT* XDD

So One Way finally visitied Manila for their 3-day Mall Tour at the SM Supermalls and boy, believe me…it was a BLAST! I have never experienced anything like this. You know, if you’re used to Korean idol groups, One Way’s music might be new and fresh to listen to. If you know me well enough, you’d know that hiphop and rnb isn’t really my thing, I’d go club but it’s usually house and trance for me and if I’m not listening to KPOP, I listen to alternative rock, rock…Switchfoot, New Radicals, We The Kings, Boys Like Girls type of music. Guess what, these boys turned the tables for me and I’m actually starting to appreciate their genre. Hey, I do like RnB…Babyface, yeahp. My mom was even surprised actually when she heard me blasting off some One Way tunes a few weeks ago.

So yes, One Was is set to bring something fresh into KPOP. Be honest, with the surge of boy group and girl groups with either Lady Gaga-ish or manly or I don’t even know how to describe those concepts, you’d be looking for something new and unique. Haha. I’m not saying those boy and girl groups are doing bad (I still love my Super Junior and SHINee and Wonder Girls) but of course you’d be looking for something new as well…and that’s when I was introduced to One Way.

And what made it even more epic is that THEY WENT HERE!!!!!!

Yes dears and sirs, One Way visited the Metro from July 28 to August 2, if I’m not mistaken. They had some shows and gained the hearts of many of the Filipino KPOP fans. With the boys performing their hit songs “Magic” and “Wrong Number”, they’ve surely made their mark in everyone’s hearts – including mine ^^.

All were too memorable to even pick which one was the best! Let’s have a rundown of the week then!

Wednesday: Boys arrive – Press Conference!

- You can say I was pretty nervous during the press conference. The other girls told me to sit still but no, I was walking around and well just randomly saying hi and none sense to everyone. But thank you to Sir Peter Chan of Universal Records Philippines for inviting us over. It was a such a cool experience actually and to ask the boys something I was curious about was epic. Haha! Oh yeah, Ate Chi and burrito promise to Chance was fun to watch as well. His reaction was too cute. Yes, Chance, We can eat burritos all day too!

After the press conference, we had to meet with Jenny (who came all the way from Davao for One Way!) at Trinoma and go back home with my parents. Jenny and May was in for the night – it was one hell of a sleepover!

Thursday – ….What just happened?

- The two girls and I decided that it was time to shop for presents for the boys. We headed to SM The Block after lunch when I got a message from a friend that she saw the boys at Trinoma. Curious little kids we are, I messaged Sir Peter asking where they were and ta-da, we had dessert afternoon with Rie, Sir Peter and Ms. Denise at Friday’s which was really supposed to be us saying hi to them and introducing Jenny to Sir Peter since well – she’s Jenny They had to pick the boys up again for another rehearsal when we were asked if we wanted to meet the boys, which we did.

OKAY. This was not really flattering because the girls and I were just in our everyday-wear clothes (PAMBAHAY..shirt-shorts..amp), messy day hair and no make up. But hey, it was nice to meet the boys so randomly and casually like that. At the end of that day, while buying gifts…..I was silently cursing myself for not dressing up…or at least put on some fake eyelashes or something…I don’t know.

But can you blame me…I was DEAD LAZY that day. XDD So was May and Jenny.

…and the gifts we got were all too hilarious. XD

Friday – SKYDOME SHOW, LET’S GO!

- We arrived as early as 2PM. Jenny, May and I had to wait around at The Block, had froyo (yum!) and I had coffee (because I needed to stay awake XD) then by around 4PM, we met the others at the entrance of the Skydome and all went in. It was fun. I felt like I was playing around with us making silly banners, taking photos~ basically just having fun with my friends while waiting for the show to start.

Sir Peter asked Jenny if she’d want to go up on stage when the boys sang one song with partners and stuff. We all urged her to go and had her to pick Peter. The show started and seeing the boys so casual and so natural for their performance was really awesome! I mean, the mall tour didn’t feel like a mall tour…it was a CONCERT! Haha!

And so Jenny went up on stage for Sexy Love and my friends and I were all giggly. I’m sure Jenny had an awesome time being up there on stage with Peter. Yeah, being serenaded by the Smooth Operator Peter himself!

That’s one tight hug over there. Sweet! :3

And of course it all ended with good fun and a dinner with my boyfriend and my lovely friends which we all enjoyed. Hopefully Dino wasn’t too traumatized. XD

SATURDAY – Megamall Show

I was a bit more lax this time around, okay not really relaxed but more like lazy and jittery at the same. Some of you guys probably know what happened so no need to elaborate but I guess Saturday was the most memorable one ^^

SUNDAY – Mall of Asia

I really thought I wouldn’t be able to attend this one but my dad let me go for the sake that it was the last day! We got there and well, I wanted to roam around Mall of Asia alone for a bit (yeah, I’m a Loner like that~) and bought cotton candy…just because.

But here are some highlights from the last show

The boys of One Way with OMGCANYOUBELIEVEIT Christian Bautista! They apparently did a collaboration which you can find in One Way’s One Way Street Philippine Edition CD so do get it so you’ll know which one it was :3

I remember meeting Christian at the Press Conference of One Way and telling him he should do more RnB tracks coz his voice fitted the genre (agree with me!!) and I got a high five and hug. My fangirl sense got all tingly. Haha! I love Christian Bautista – he’s amazing! XD (yes, I apparently do love other genres aside from KPOP btw)

After the extensive promotions from both Universal Records Philippines and Super Junior United Philippines for the past few week, Finding Miinah Day that was held last July 3, 2010 was a huge success. Super Junior fans lined up and filled the 3 music stores the whole day and of course, yours truly got a chance to witness this event! However, I wasn’t able to reach Greenbelt since I had a meeting scheduled in Megamall that day as well.

My first stop was SM North Edsa – The Block being the nearest to my house and oh my god. I never expected the crowd to cover up almost half of The Block’s ground floor area. Astroplus SM North Edsa The Block even had a giant screen and some seats set up for the fans to enjoy.

And of course, with my friends being mostly Super Junior fans, I had a hell lot of a good time especially when we all had dinner together at Megamall after the event….not to mention my shoe broke due to…..circumstances. XD

Anyway, you’ve probably guessed that I’m taking my internship with the Flippish team! Woo! and guess what, Flippish is TURNING 1 and we’re game to party with all of you there at Fiamma Bar, Makati. Oh god, wait. Me and clubs sometimes don’t match. Hopefully things turn out good for me. HAHA! Kring knows what happened to me last time with KPOPNIGHT 1.

To be honest, I’ve been a fan of Flippish since well, since I got back to the KPOP biznezz and when I got to know Kring as well. The shows are just pure awesome and right now, I feel quite happy to have helped in producing or generally just helping out in anything in the office and with the shows as well and yay, it’s turning 1! The team has been really helpful and I really learned a lot from everyone and at the same time had so much fun with my co-interns. Dear god, I can write up a whole mushy letter on how my friends over at the office has helped me realize a lot of things but I won’t do that…MY INTERNSHIP’S NOT YET OVER HAHAHAHA!! XDDD

I had been always curious when my friends and I go out to Makati or anywhere really where there’s a Korean grocery at our reach, they would buy this Korean popsicle called “뽕따” or Bbong Dda. I’m not even sure if that was correct romanization as my Hangul reading skills is…lacking. So there. Basically it’s a “pop-top” type of ice cream. Wait, it’s not even ice cream! It’s like shaved ice with flavor. If I’m not mistaken, I got the soda flavor. Well, it doesn’t really taste anything soda-ish to me. I wonder if they accidentally switched the pack I had with bubblegum flavor. XD

Oh god, the next one was uber funny. I just randomly picked this up without second thoughts. If you’re a HUGE SHINee fan (like me. I think? XD) you’re already getting yourself some yummy Oddugi with your favorite SHINee’s member’s face plastered on the front part of the foil pack.

I obviously got grabby hands over the Minho one. Okay, wait, the whole rack was filled with MINHO. I was looking for the OnTae one since I don’t think Taemin had a solo one. You get a free SHINee Oddugi sticker inside too and I got KEY which I will happily trade for a Taemin with my friend, Topher. I couldn’t finish the noodles btw. Minho’s Bulgogi flavored I think. Oh god, wrong.

And lastly, I had kimbap for lunch yesterday. Yum!

Okay, why suddenly buying stuff? I went out yesterday to have the Finding Miinah posters posted around the neighborhood which you already can consider a mini-KTown. I got a couple of interesting reactions from the ahjummas and the ahjussis in the different store. Cute, really. :3

That’s just one and it’s special coz Ate Chi really likes that Melona poster below it and I like the Red Bean ice cream sandwich poster because it reminds me of Donghae. MUST EAT THAT IN SCHOOL TODAY!

There’s more of these posters scattered around the Metro but not only in Manila but in other regions as well such as Davao! It’s amazing really and makes me really excited for the 4th Album release in the Philippines of Super Junior. This also means, Wonderfuls should get ready too *coughcough* 2DT PHILIPPINE RELEASE SOON!

So we decided to do a little ambush make over for her birthday. We had to meet the next day since she had to celebrate her birthday first with the family. With that, Elaine, Ate Chi, Micah and I were plotting evil plans…MUAHAHA! Oh yes, the power of Twitter’s Direct Message function! WAHAHA! So the day came with Elaine, Micah, May and Ate Chi and I meeting at SM Megamall, using Black Soshi Day and May’s celebration as an excuse to cover up the secret plan but hey it seems everyone had fun during BSD!

When we met up with Ate Chi, we left the record bar to bring May to the 5th floor for some “ice cream”. DRAT. The ice cream stand had to be at the OTHER end of Megamall, so stalling was becoming hard for us. Micah treated May some ice cream and knowing May, oh god, ice cream was all it took to make her stop asking us where we were “really headed”. Derek came and tagged along with us and helped us distract May while Elaine had to run to Netopia and have the hairstyle guide picture printed. We had to tell May that Elaine was drowning probably in the bathroom whenever she kept asking what was taking her so long.

Elaine came back with the picture and as we walked and stopped by Vivere Salon (one of the salons I usually go to ) and asked them to do the trick and ohmygodLOL, May’s reaction was epic and Derek had to drag her inside. It was so cute, I swear. May sat on the chair with a big pout! Anyway, we wanted to be WOAH surprised so we decided to not peak and just lounge around the waiting area of the salon.

Lol, just sharing a slice of my life outside the fandom world you guys~ I’ve been busy with my internship that’s why it’s still hard for me to schedule things. T.T I’ll be back soon.

A few weeks ago, I’ve co-presented a contest that I’m sure most of you heard of. Thanks to our friends at Xing Street Fashion Project, their session 8 of their open shoot series was dedicated to KPOP FASHION! Being a fan of KPOP and the K-Fashion as well, we collaborated for this open shoot for ALL of YOU, KPOP fans to come show us and strut your stuff ala 2NE1, Big Bang, 4Minute, Wonder Girls, Super Junior and the many KPOP artists that I’m sure most of you love and adore. It was quite hard to choose from the entries since my co-bloggers had a bit of a hard time from the entries. However, we did get to decide on a winner and we have none other than Kristin Cornejo, who showed us a style of KFashion that most of us love! COLORFUL Fashion, they call it. Of course, we’re not saying KPOP is limited to “bling bling” colors but let’s just say that if you say KPOP Fashion, this is one of the elements that gives much impact to those who aren’t quite familiar on KPOP or KFASHION. So we met up with Kristin last Saturday where we did a mini-photo shoot plus we also asked her a couple of things.

And this was her winning piece for the contest,

What do you guys think? Neat, right? The outfit basically has the “colorful” element and one I personally liked about this outfit is how she layered her her clothes because KFashion is sometimes all about layering and mix and matching pieces.

Kristin is 19 years old, and among all of the KPOP artists laid out on the table, she likes 2NE1 the most. Like most of us, she learned about the group through their collaboration with fellow labelmates, Big Bang for the mobile company LG. I’m sure you all know the song “Lollipop” and yes, Kristin loves the colorful and playful mix and matching of clothes just like what 2NE1 and Big Bang wore in the music video. Well, she wasn’t a fan during 2Ne1′s earlier days but she learned to really like the group through the song, “I Don’t Care”.  Her favorite member of the group is Park Bom who is known for her chic yet “this girl got attitude” style in the group. Aside from 2Ne1 (HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY BTW!), Kristin likes Big Bang and 4Minute.

However, KFashion isn’t Kristin’s original fashion genre. She looks up to fashion icon, Vivienne Westwood because of the classy yet sassy styles of the Westwood line which I think KPOP Fashion is also influenced by. For Kristin though, KFashion isn’t a one time thing like most would thing, she thinks it’s more of a “spur of the moment” thing plus she believes that Kfashion, aside from being trendy, is a means of letting out your creativity without going too outrageous with your outfits.

What Kristin likes about KFashion is that it allows her not to be scared to try new things like the striking and colorful outfits. Of course, I asked her “What about the weather in the Philippines, how do you adjust to it?”, of course, we’re a tropical country and South Korea experiences 4 seasons and with summer being SOOOO HOT like just during our interview, it’s a bit hard to adjust to KFashion? Kristin says that sure we may not wear too much of the layered clothings but styles insprired from Girls’ Generation (Gee Gee Gee shorts) and a 2-layer top could do the trick.

*note: just make sure the fabric is cotton so it won’t be too hot. XD

Lastly, I asked her if there are any shops she’d recommend since not all of us can go on Yesstyle and spend a million on Korean fashion and online shopping may or may not be your thing. Kristin mostly gets her clothes from thrift stores which has unique finds from time to time. Of course, you’d just have to train that little eye on searching for the good finds. However, if the thrift shops aren’t your thing, she says a good source would be “Y.R.Y.S” – a clothing store which has very eccentric styles of clothing which can be easily mixed with other basic pieces.
